Description
Many shooters prefer using a muzzle support with their competition holsters, and for good reason. While the Race Master holster works well without it, adding a muzzle support provides several benefits. It helps prevent the gun from being dislodged during movement. This can happen if it gets bumped against the thigh or props, especially if the holster is left unlocked.
Additionally, some firearms—particularly those with round trigger guards, such as most 1911s, Paras, and revolvers—may rotate slightly when held only by the trigger guard. A muzzle support eliminates this movement and keeps the gun secure, especially with heavier revolvers.
To meet customer demand, DAA has made the muzzle support compatible with high-end Race Master and Racer holsters. As of early 2014, all Race Master holster bodies have an M8 threaded hole at the bottom for easy installation.
For revolver users, the Race Master/Racer Muzzle Support Revolver Adapter extends the support forward. It can attach to the holster body or the Muzzle Support Body Adapter. However, to use the muzzle support with a Racer holster, you will need to drill and tap an M8 thread into the holster body.
Installation Options:
- Newer Holsters: If your holster has the M8 hole, you need the basic Muzzle Support Assembly, which includes the vertical rod, muzzle platform, and muzzle pin.
- Older Holsters: If your holster lacks the M8 hole and you can drill and tap it, no additional parts are needed.
- Drop-On Solution: For holsters without the M8 hole, you can purchase the Race Master Muzzle Support Body Adapter. This attaches without modification and is available for right-hand Race Master holsters only.
